What Does ‘Discovery’ Mean? To me, discovery means to discover something new, to learn something new. And it means to discover how something works. In the picture I am in the rainforest to discover new plants. In the rainforest I am looking for new medicines. I hope to discover a lot in the new Discovery Center.

Crusie Arcade Game - Camilla and Bra-el's Marble Maze:
Research Paper
Identify the Problem How can we, as Caine has inspired, demonstrate through teamwork our imagination, determination, and passion for creativity and innovation, with our own arcade constructions? Explore What Makes an Effective Professional Arcade Game? The game I played and that I researched was Sphere Runner. The creator of Sphere Runner is David Carachelo. To play this game one needs to move something that looks like a submarine. To move the submarine use arrow keys (left, right, up, and down). All of the circles have to be covered without getting hit by the machine throwing the fireballs at the submarine to blast it. Once the circles are all covered, the player moves to the next level. The rules are displayed under the screen. I think the level of difficulty of Sphere Runner is 3 out of a 4 rating. You win the game by filling all the circles in. If you win the game you pass to the next level.
To build the game you will need blue paper, cardboard, a fireball machine, blue circles and glue. To buy the game you will need at least $20.00. To build the game you will need at least $20.00.
Design Brief What is the Concept Design of My Crusie Arcade Game? The name of the arcade game is called Camilla & Bra’el’s Marble Maze. You play the game by moving the marble to get to the finish within the time limit. There are traps in the game that make the marble fall. So beware of them! The rules will be displayed on the front of the game. The level of difficulty is a 4 through a rating of 1-4. You win the game by getting through the maze within the time without falling into the traps. If you finish the maze when the timer goes off it does count. If you win the game you get a prize and tickets.
Our blueprint has a ticket hole, prize hole, and a timer. It also has a finish, start, and a maze.
The materials we need to build this game are tape, cardboard, marble, sharpie, prizes, tickets, and coins. We think the game will take us a few weeks to build the game. The problems we foresee to happen is the tape not holding things in place.

Praise: Good idea! Love the maze idea and all of the traps.
Question: How did you come up with the idea?
Polish: Maybe put a bag under the holes then someone does not have to be in the box.
Student Comment: Thank you for your comment! I love your comment about our game, Marble Maze. We both came up with the idea by writing down games, and we both wrote down Marble Maze. That is how we came up with Marble Maze. To answer your polish, the marble would get stuck in the bag because the holes are not big enough for our hands to fit in there to retrieve the marble.
Examiner: Mr. Tavoletti
Date: 1/28/13
Praise: Easy / Hard: great ! Mix of coordination and speed! You choose the prize!
Question: Can you win an extra try? Is there an easy/ hard finish too? W bigger prizes:
Polish: Colors/make smooth the surface. Can make a very hard version without stick?
Student Comment: Thank you! It was Bra`el who choose to do the hard part of the game. The harder one is that way because it has holes. I do not think you can win an extra try. No, there is not an easy/hard finish. I like the idea of the colors. We will think about using the colors and making the smooth surface.
Examiner: Ms. Waters
Date: 1/28/13
Praise: Very creative intro to the game! Specific explanation! I like the different option of levels. Good use of tools, excellent construction!
Question: How much time? How many tries does each player get?
Polish: Might want to let the player know how much time they get. Write it somewhere on the game.
Student Comment: Thank you for the comment about Marble Maze. We wanted the game to have different options of levels. We put two different levels so the players could choose what level they wanted to do instead of just having one level. The time limit will be one minute. The players will get 3 tries to beat the game. It is a very great comment about the time. Thank you for reminding us. We will put how much time the person will get; it will be about 1 minute.

How Can We Make the Crusie Arcade Game Better?
Reflection on Project
What can we do to improve our Arcade Creation?
Make it more colorful.
Specifically, how would we do this?
We could paint it.
Reflection on Process
What did you learn to do with the Crusie Arcade Project?
I learned to build.
What do you know now that you didn’t know before doing the Project?
I learned to build an arcade game out of cardboard.
What can you do now that you couldn’t before doing this project?
I could not do an orthographic design.
What did you like about the project that helped your learning?
The teamwork.
What could have been done differently to help your learning?
Paid more attention to: Mr. May, my friends when they were speaking.
A Final Reflection:
Bra`el and I made this arcade game named Marble Maze out of cardboard. We tried to make our arcade game better by making it more colorful and more stable. To make it more colorful we should paint it, and to make it more stable we could put more cardboard on the side. I learned how to build an arcade game out of cardboard. In this project I also learned how to draw an orthographic design. What I really liked about the project was the teamwork with my partner. I could have learned differently by paying more attention to Mr. May and my friends when they were talking about the project. This is what I learned from the Crusie Arcade project.
